Latino association honors locals
The Glendale Latino Assn. named Porto’s Bakery co-owner Betty Porto “Woman of the Year,” and Glendale-based Americas United Bank was named “Business of the Year” on Friday at an awards ceremony at the La Cañada Country Club.
Michael Escalante, superintendent of the Glendale Unified School District, was honored as the Latino association’s “Man of the Year.”
Dealership to host chamber mixer
The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce Mixer Pre-Smart-a-Thon will be from 6 to 8 p.m. March 12 at Bob Smith Toyota, 3322 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta.
The cost is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Call (818) 248-4957.
