BOYS’ SWIMMING
Flintridge Prep in Prep League Swimming and Diving Finals: Austin Bell won a Prep League title in the 500-yard freestyle and also swam in the Rebels’ league-champion 200 freestyle relay team on Saturday at Pasadena Poly.
Bell’s 500 freestyle time of 5 minutes, 4.77 seconds was a CIF-qualifying mark, as was the 200 freestyle relay time of 1:33.85 turned in by Bell, Cody Boyce, James Vandeventer and Jordan Randall.
The 200 freestyle relay time was the a new Pasadena Poly pool record and the same quartet also finished second in the 200-medley relay in 1:49.50.
Bell got a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:51.56) and Boyce finished second in the 100 freestyle (50.86).
The Rebels (0-3 in league) scored 167 points to finish fourth in the meet.
GIRLS’ SWIMMING
Flintridge Prep in Prep League Swimming and Diving Finals: Kristin Brisbois finished fourth in the 200-yard individual-medley relay in 2 minutes, 26.24 seconds and fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:07.25) for the Rebels (2-3 in league) on Saturday at Pasadena Poly. Prep scored 150 points to finish fourth in the meet.
BASEBALL
Flintridge Prep 11, Chadwick 9: Mark Chodas went three for four with a home run, two doubles and three runs batted in and Aaron Fried went three for five with four RBIs to lead the Rebels (7-10, 3-4-1 in league) to a Prep League win on Saturday in Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Ben Slyngstad allowed four earned runs on seven hits in six innings while striking out four to earn the win. Prep next plays on Tuesday at Pasadena Poly.
