Alumni under the lights
The Crescenta Valley High baseball team is hosting its annual Falcons alumni game on Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Stengel Field. The 2008 Falcons are currently in first place in the Pacific League with a one-game lead.

The Hoover High swimming team is seeking an assistant coach for the upcoming season.

Registration for the 2008 Crescenta Sports PONY baseball and ASA softball seasons will be held by mail.
The leagues are open to all area boys and girls ages 4-16.

AYSO preregistration set to take place
Region 88 AYSO will be conducting registration for the upcoming season.
To guarantee a spot on a team in the Fall, go to the Region 88 website www.ayso88.org and follow the instructions to pre-register — including printing the completed registration form — then bring the printed form to the walk-in registration on Saturday at Clark Magnet School before paying the $80 per player registration fee.
Region 88 board voted at its recent meeting to hold fees for the 2008 Fall soccer season at the same level for the sixth year in a row. The registration fee is (Under 5 through Under 19) will be $100. Registration fees include uniform, pictures, trophy and a yearbook for each player.
Registration fees cover approximately two-thirds of the cost per player, with the other third coming from team sponsors. Team sponsorship fees remain the same for the 2008 season, with three categories of sponsorship ranging from $300-$500 (The basic Under 5 team sponsorships are only $150 because of the reduced size of Under 5 teams).
Boys and girls water polo players sought
A Santa Clarita Valley-based age group water polo club is seeking boys and girls between the ages of 11-13.
The club is run by Crescenta Valley High School girls’ Athletic Director Pete Loporchio.
