Local business makes promotion
Scottrade, an online investment firm, has promoted Teresa Santilena to manage its Glendale branch office located in the Glendale Galleria at 100 W. Broadway.
As branch manager, Santilena is responsible for branch operations, managing personnel and providing customer service.
Before being promoted to branch manager, Santilena was a broker at Scottrade’s Pasadena branch office. She has five years of experience in the financial services industry and attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.
DreamWorks profits are up
Glendale-based DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. reported last week that a total first quarter revenue of $156.6 million and net income of $26.1 million, which represents a 69% increase compared with the same period last year.
In the first quarter 2007, the company’s revenue was $93.7 million, with a net income of $15.4 million, the company reported.
DreamWorks attributed its first-quarter success to DVD sales of its latest release, “Bee Movie,” and “Shrek the Third.”
“Bee Movie” contributed $48.9 million of revenue, and “Shrek the Third” added $48.3 million.
Looking forward through 2008, DreamWorks is expecting its performance to be driven by the performance of the animated feature “Kung Fu Panda,” which opens domestically on June 6.
