Glendale at Valencia, 3 p.m.: The Nitros (12-6) opened the playoffs Tuesday with a 12-6 home victory against Nipomo in a Division II wild-card match. Things figure to get a lot tougher for the Nitros, who must face the fourth-seeded Vikings (19-1).
Glendale finished third in the Pacific League, while Valencia captured the Foothill League championship.
The Nitros will turn to their No. 1 doubles team of Nick Daka and Mike Astorian, who are 40-3 this season.
Crescenta Valley at Diamond Bar, 3 p.m.: Crescenta Valley (10-6), which beat Etiwanda, 10-8, on Tuesday, will hit the road again today for its Division II first-round match against second-seeded Diamond Bar (19-1). The squads last met in the postseason in 2006 when Diamond Bar earned a 13-5 home victory.
