Jacob Harris was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for beating his sister after an argument that ignited during a car ride home from a bar in Montrose, according to Glendale police.
That’s when Harris parked the vehicle in the 2500 block of Honolulu Avenue, reached toward the back seat and allegedly punched his sister three times in the face. Police say he then opened a rear passenger door, pulled his sister out and threw her on the ground, where he continued attacking her.
When he stopped, his girlfriend told him to leave the area, and the two women drove off.
Police described the sister’s face as “extremely swollen” and bruised. She was taken to Verdugo Hills Hospital for treatment.
When police asked Harris to exit his home in the 3400 block of La Palmas Avenue, he instead ran out the back and hid in the backyard of a home in the 3500 block of Angelus Avenue, police said.
Officers who eventually caught up with him reported that he had suffered cuts on his chest, arms and face from allegedly running through multiple backyards.
