Some had to hike up the mountain to Griffith Observatory as early as 6 a.m. with the parking lot already packed. Others took a break from work or class to snap photos with their cellphones. The flyover of space shuttle Endeavour was, for the moment, L.A.'s biggest celebrity Friday.
