A vehicle was shot at by another passing vehicle Tuesday on the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway, just east of the Golden State (5) Freeway, authorities said.

The vehicle’s driver and passenger were not injured in the shooting, which occurred at noon on the freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Denmon said.

Little information was released on the incident, including the victims, suspects or the make or model of the vehicles involved.

The victims, who are in their 20s and live in Van Nuys and Pacoima, were traveling on the freeway when they were fired upon by the other unknown vehicle, Denmon said.

The shooting remained under investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting was encouraged to call the CHP’s dispatch center at (323) 982-4913, or their regional office at (818) 240-8100.
