For those interested in getting their politics on prior to Cinco de Mayo festivities, a Glendale City Council candidate forum is scheduled for this evening at 7 p.m. at the Sparr Heights Community Center.

The five candidates --  Chache Keuroghelian, Paula Divine, Rick Barnes, Vartan Gharpetian and Mike Mohill – are vying for a 10-month seat vacated by Rafi Manoukian, who left the dais after being elected city treasurer last year. The election is scheduled for June 3.

The forum, moderated by News-Press Editor Dan Evans and sponsored by the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce, will spotlight topics of interested to the North Glendale/Montrose area as well as the larger community. Light refreshments to be provided.

The community center is located at 1613 Glencoe Way.
