More than 1,700 people passed through the Saturday checkpoint at Los Feliz Boulevard and Gardena Avenue and 1,119 of them were stopped, said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.
Also, 16 people were arrested for driving without a license, another had an outstanding warrant and one suspect was wanted for identity theft, he said.
During the saturation patrol — which took place in Burbank, Glendale and San Marino — 70 vehicles were stopped and 15 sobriety tests were administered, Lorenz said.
Two people were arrested for alleged drunk driving, one driver was allegedly being high on drugs and another two individuals were arrested on suspicion of being both drunk and high, he said.
In addition, one person was arrested for being an alleged unlicensed driver.
