Police have released surveillance footage of a suspect allegedly stealing belongings from a parked car at Glendale High School last month, and he is believed to have been spotted wandering the campus previously.

At 6:33 p.m. on July 30, the unidentified male was caught on video surveillance walking up to a vehicle in the school parking lot and noticing the driver's side window was lowered slightly, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

He was able to reach in, unlock the door and search the car before removing a number of unknown items, Lightfoot said.

The suspect then walked up to another vehicle and appeared to tamper with it for several seconds before walking away, she said.

Detectives said he has been seen walking around the campus before.

The suspect is described as between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall with a medium to heavy build. He has shaggy black hair and was seen with a dark backpack.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Det. Travis Goodreau at (818) 548-2097.
