A 34-year-old masseuse was arrested Monday on suspicion of offering sex to an undercover officer inside a South Glendale spa, police said.

Ling Han was booked at the Glendale police jail in connection with prostitution for the alleged sex offer, according to Sgt. Tom Lorenz. She was released Tuesday after posting $2,000 bail.

Detectives received a tip a few weeks ago about a woman who was offering to perform sexual acts in exchange for money at Ivy Spa in the 600 block of East Colorado Street, he said.

Police sent in the undercover detective for a massage at the spa, where Han proposed sex in return for cash, Lorenz said. Han was immediately arrested.

Owners of the spa could not be reached for comment Thursday. They did, however, tell police they knew nothing about Han's alleged sexual solicitations, Lorenz said.

Police will continue monitoring the spa to ensure its workers are not engaged in any illegal activity, Lorenz said.

City zoning officials could consider abating any business associated with repeated illegal activity, he added.

In 2010, city officials ordered a medical office on East Colorado Street to cease all massage operations because its management failed to obtain the proper permits.

At the time, undercover detectives arrested an employee who allegedly offered a massage package that included sex acts.
