Rick Barnes, newcomer Luis Alberto Ramos, Mike Mohill, Chahe Keuroghelian, Vartan Gharpetian and Paula Devine were issued nomination papers on Monday, when the process officially started.
The City Council unanimously voted last month to consolidate its ballot with the statewide primary election.
Keuroghelian, Gharpetian and Devine have already publicly announced their plans to run to replace Quintero, who the council appointed to replace former Councilman Rafi Manoukian.
Manoukian won the city treasurer position in an election last April, which left his seat vacant.
In that race, Keuroghelian also ran for a seat, but came in fourth behind Councilman Zareh Sinanyan.
Mohill, a longtime City Hall critic, and Barnes, a Realtor, also competed in April for seats on the city council.
Quintero can only serve until June, so the person replacing him will be on the council for only 10 months. The post will be up for grabs again for a full four-year term in the April 2015 municipal election.
