Police arrested six motorists Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol during a sobriety checkpoint.

Authorities stopped more than 1,000 vehicles at the checkpoint at Los Feliz Road and Gardena Avenue, where they screened 77 vehicles and conducted 22 field sobriety tests.

Six vehicles were towed and one weapon was confiscated.

Officers also arrested 18 motorists for other alleged driving violations.
