A thief got away with several hundreds of dollars Monday after robbing a cell phone store in downtown Glendale at gunpoint, police said.
No one was hurt during the robbery, which occurred about 1:21 p.m. at Metro PCS in the 1100 block of East Broadway, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
The thief reportedly walked into the store, brandished a handgun and demanded cash. But when police arrived at the cell phone store, the thief had already fled with the money.
The thief was described as a Latino man, 40 to 50 years old, 200 pounds and 5 feet 9 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore a light blue, long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
