LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Mayor Drayman is getting the job done

I disagree with Bernard Pastrana (“L.A. not the answer for council meetings,” Mailbag, Monday). Moving oral communication to the end of City Council meetings does not make Mayor John Drayman any less a representative of the people. The weekly City Council agenda represents “the people’s business.”

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Students just need education

The Glendale News-Press front page covering the Day of Silence, quoting participants’ various — some lame, some effervescent — statements was, let’s say, impressive (“Speaking out with silence,” April 26.)

Airport didn’t arrive overnight

Regarding people’s complaints about airport noise and the proposed curfew (“Airport curfew up for review,” April 2): What is so important about the year 1930? It’s when Bob Hope Airport, then known as United Airport, started operation here in Burbank.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Public comment change was not a big surprise

It is not too surprising that oral communication has finally been moved to the end of the City Council meeting, since it’s been in the works, off and on, for years (“Mayor Drayman faces first salvo,” Thursday).
