Glendale Fighting Club combatants Art “Lionheart” Hovhannisyan and “The Supernova from Moldova” Marina Shafir will headline Lights Out Promotions’ “Chaos at the Casino 4” on April 12 at the Hollywood Park Casino.
As with all of the previous Chaos cards, boxing, mixed martial arts and muay Thai fights are all scheduled, with Hovhannisyan (16-1, nine knockouts) facing off with Miguel Zuniga (12-4, seven KOs) in the main event in an eight-round boxing match.
Shafir will make her much-anticipated professional MMA debut against a to-be-announced opponent. The 25-year-old Shafir went 5-0 in the amateur ranks, winning all her bouts via first-round submission.
Also scheduled for the boxing portion of the event is a four-round bout featuring Vatche Martirosyan (3-0, two knockouts) against a to-be-announced opponent.
In the MMA co-main event, John Robles (7-2) will take on Ara Muradyan (4-1), who trains at Main Event Gym in Glendale.
Elsewhere on the MMA portion, Glendale Fighting Club’s Alfred Khashakian (1-1) will take on Odan Chinchilla (1-0) and teammate Melsik Baghdasaryan will make his MMA debut after a stellar muay Thai run. Another GFC trainee, Vardan Sholinian (1-1), will face Tremaine Lewis (1-1).
Main Event’s Armen Bakanyan (0-2) will square off with Matt Doyle (2-2) and Arsen Galstyan (1-2) is set to face Danny Lockhart (2-3).
Fighting out of Burbank Gracie Barra and coached by Glendale’s Alberto Crane, Damian Marzett (2-0) will face Selah Williams (1-1) and Daniel Clark (2-2) is scheduled to face Ruben Warr (2-2).
Chris Saunders (10-6), an alumnus of “The Ultimate Fighter,” will face Anthony McDavitt (8-7), Christos Giagos (7-2) will take on Preston Scharf (13-14), Dmitry Gerasimov (3-0) and Max Ceniceros (4-2) are set for action and Thor Skanke (4-5) will toe the line with Fernando Vargas (2-2).
In muay Thai action, Levon Sargsyan, who trains at GFC, will take on Ming Freeman and Sergai Martirosyan will face Joe Piedra.
