Crescenta Valley 72, Cesar Chavez 13: The host Falcons (5-3) received 16 points and three assists from Kevin Dinges and 11 points from Eric Bae on Thursday to record a pool-play victory in the Falcon Classic.

Crescenta Valley, which had already defeated Cesar Chavez in another blowout win the previous week in the San Fernando Valley Invitational, will meet Hart in the tournament’s championship game at 7:45 p.m. Friday.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 64, Holy Martyrs 35: Casey Johnson collected 15 points and five rebounds Thursday to help the Tologs (4-2) earn a pool-play win in the Pasadena Poly Tournament.

Jenna Trad contributed 13 points and six rebounds for Flintridge Sacred Heart, which received eight points and seven rebounds from Camilla Homans.

Heritage Christian 52, Holy Family 37: Charisse Talaro notched a team-high 12 points Thursday for the Gaels (0-5) in a consolation game of the Pioneer Shootout at Providence High.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Crescenta Valley 14, Huntington Beach 13 (OT): Elissa Arnold scored the match-winning goal to spark the Falcons (6-1) in a pool-play match of the Villa Park Tournament.

Brynn Fernandez scored with two seconds remaining in regulation for the Falcons. Arnold finished with six goals and teammate Audrey Taylor added four.

Crescenta Valley, the top-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division V, then suffered a 9-3 defeat against San Clemente, the fourth-ranked team in Division II.

Flintridge Sacred Heart 6, Mayfield 5: Maddy Dulcich scored a team-high three goals Thursday to spark the Tologs (4-2) in a pool-play match of the Burbank High Tournament.

In an earlier pool-play match, Dulcich had three goals and Mary Farley added two in a 7-5 loss against Burbank.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Golden Valley 4, Crescenta Valley 0: The Falcons fell to 0-4 on the season with Thursday afternoon’s nonleague road loss.

Santa Clarita Christian 2, Holy Family 0: The host Gaels (0-2) got 10 saves from goalkeeper Emely Palancia in a nonleague match Thursday at the Glendale Sports Complex.
