GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 79, Animo Leadership 11: Freshman forward Camilla Homans tallied 23 points and 13 rebounds in leading the Tologs to a Poly Tournament pool play finale victory on Friday afternoon.

Senior guard Ellie DiPietro added 14 points and four rebounds for Flintridge Sacred Heart (5-2), which won its pool and earned advancement to Saturday afternoon’s tournament championship at 4 p.m. at Pasadena Poly versus either Poly or South Pasadena.

Glendale 45, Carter 40: The Nitros got back on track with a victory Friday night at the Burroughs tournament. Glendale improved to 4-4.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Verdugo Hills 60, Flintridge Prep 36: Without Robert Cartwright, the Rebels struggled and fell in the third-place game of the Crescenta Valley High Tournament on Friday evening.

Kyle Hamane paced the Rebels (2-2) with 12 points. Flintridge Prep is back in action Thursday versus Sierra Canyon.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 3, Sierra Canyon 0: The Rebels scored two first-half goals and never looked back in a nonleague home victory Friday afternoon.

Junior forward Ari Baranian scored the match’s first goal, which was followed a few minutes later by a Tim Bates goal off an assist from Bryce Delgado. Riley Jones headed in a corner kick from Cole Rademacher for the final score, while sophomore Hamilton Evans finished with three saves.

Flintridge Prep (4-2) will next face off with San Marino on Dec. 19.

St. Francis 2, West Ranch 0: Frankie Viega had one goal and one assist Friday to lead the host Knights (2-1-1) in a consolation match of the Ralph Brandt Tournament. Ricky Francia also scored for St. Francis, which will meet Granada Hills in another tournament match at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at home.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

San Diego Cathedral Catholic 10, Crescenta Valley 7: After falling behind, 4-0, in the first quarter, the Falcons couldn’t quite come back in Friday’s loss at the Villa Park Tournament.

Audrey Taylor had four goals and Elissa Arnold had three for CV (6-2).
