    I want to personally thank Dan Evans for his column, “Stand up against absurdity” (Start the Presses column, Jan. 11). Had it not been for his column, I would not have known about this abhorrent group’s (the Westboro Baptist Church) plans to protest in front of four of our churches last weekend. Because of Evans’ column I went, along with two of my neighbors, to stand up against these really sick people. To my delight there were many, many people at the Presbyterian and Catholic churches (the two churches we stood in front of) doing the exact same thing and it was awesome to see so many young people there standing up to such a vile, hate-filled bunch.
