  1. More than just a game

When Harvey Mason Jr. went up for a jump shot during a practice, he immediately felt something wrong in his right knee when he landed. The injury couldn't have occurred at a worse time. It came when Mason had been at his best during his four-year stint...

  3. Why do we wait for special events to clean up our city?

I've often talked about the dirtiest, most filthy city in America. It's not Detroit or New York; it's New Orleans. And now, because of the Final 4 basketball championships coming to town, we are all about cleaning it up.

  13. Notre Dame, Brigham Young make the grades in 'March Madness of the Minds'

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament can be a frustrating experience for fans trying to predict the 65-team bracket. With 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 different combinations of results for predicting a perfect bracket (according to mathematicians), it's far from an exact science.

  15. Hanging with Hagan: NCAA Tourney Expansion...No Thanks

Lots of talk lately about expanding the NCAA Men's basketball tournament from 65 to 96 teams. I would have to vote against such a measure even though expansion of just ONE team would have perhaps saved my beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs this year. By all accounts State was the last team left out this season, but that's the way it goes. They had their chances to earn an at-large berth or to win their way via the SEC tournament, but couldn't get it done.

  21. Sports Network predicts Syracuse win over Butler

The fifth-seeded Bulldogs are appearing in the " Sweet 16" for the fourth time in program history, and the third time in the last eight years. Butler, which hasn't lost a game since bowing to UAB (67-57) in non-conference action back on December 22nd, ran the table in the Horizon League with an 18-0 mark and won the league title going away. After capturing the conference tournament with a 70-45 thrashing of Wright State, the Bulldogs set their sights on a bigger prize and defeated UTEP in the first round of the 72nd annual NCAA Tournament by a score of 77-59. Last Saturday, the team slipped by a surprising Murray State squad with a narrow 54-52 final to advance in the West Regional.
